Dental Insurance – Roswell, GA

Making Orthodontics Affordable

One of the most common questions we get at Pop Braces is, “Can I use my dental insurance to pay for orthodontic care?” Our orthodontic office is in-network with several PPO insurance plans (you’ll find a list below), and we’re happy to go over our patients’ coverage so we can help them maximize their benefits and make their treatments as affordable as possible.

Understanding How Dental Insurance Works

Dental insurance forms

Dental insurance works very similarly to standard health insurance, in that for exchange for a monthly premium, your provider pays for all or part of your dental care. However, most plans tend to treat orthodontics a little differently compared to other procedures. While checkups, cleanings, and fillings are usually covered by a percentage (about 50-100% depending on the treatment), with orthodontics, each individual on the plan receives a lifetime benefit. This is a set sum of money that can be applied toward orthodontic care. Once that money is spent, it is gone for good. Thankfully, it tends to be thousands of dollars, which can greatly offset the cost of braces.

What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers

In order to tell you definitively what your plan covers, we recommend giving our team a call with your policy information handy. That way, we can look up your benefits and let you know exactly what to expect when it comes to your out-of-pocket cost. Speaking generally, dental insurance will almost always cover metal braces, especially for patients under 18. Less traditional treatments like Invisalign, Damon Braces, and InBrace braces may not be covered, but we offer multiple payment and financing options that can make them fit comfortably into any budget.
