When should my child visit the orthodontist?
Developmentally speaking, eight years old is usually a good age to schedule an orthodontic consultation. We’ll be able to identify alignment problems more easily and determine the course of your child’s oral development. We can also start planning treatment at this stage if it’s needed.
Why should I straighten my teeth?
Having a straight smile can do wonders for your confidence, but the greatest benefit of orthodontic treatment lies in the difference it can make for your oral health. It’s easier to chew your food properly when your teeth are all correctly aligned, and you won’t wear them down as quickly since the forces of your bite will be evenly distributed. Straight teeth are also much easier to clean, meaning you can potentially prevent cavities and gum disease.
Do you treat children and adults?
Braces are thought of as something for children and teenagers, but as a matter of fact, a quarter of orthodontic patients are adults! As long as you are at least eight years of age, we’re more than happy to welcome you to our orthodontic office as a patient.
How long will orthodontic treatment take?
That all depends on what state your teeth are in. Milder cases can sometimes be resolved in a matter of months, but severe misalignment can take two years or more to correct. We can create a more precise timeframe for you during your free initial consultation. Also, we may be able to use technology such as Propel or Acceledent to cut down on your treatment time.
What is InBrace, and how does it work?
InBrace is an option for patients who don’t want to wear traditional braces that could potentially detract from their appearance. A small wire will be placed on the back of your teeth to slowly push your teeth into their proper alignment.
Do you accept dental insurance?
Yes, and we’re in-network with many different plans. We can also file claims for out-of-network plans so that you can enjoy all of the savings that you’re entitled to. Our team members can go over your current policy with you so that you completely understand your benefits; we can also discuss alternative financing options if you need them.
